Went for lunch at Temasek Polytechnic yesterday. Had lunch at The School Of Business (for obvious reasons) and the meal was great. I had a chicken chop at $2.60 and a glass of Ice Milo at 60 cents. Make me wonder why my niece complain about not having enough to spend despite the fact that her daily allowance is $10. It been ages since I visited a school. Visiting it make me realize two things. Most of my happy memories were during my poly days where I led a carefree (My mum will say a wasteful one for screwing up my results) and happy life. It felt great to be a student. Not one day was dull. Unlike now, where my life revolve around work, eat and sleep.

The 2nd thing I realized was that I don't fit into the crowd over there. See, part of the reason we went there was to send my colleague, Rixin over for his graduation ceremony. I was like the only 25 yrs and above guy there having lunch. There were curious stares on me. Make me wonder if they are thinking why a student is wearing shirt and pants for lunch (Haha, I think I look young k) or why an Uncle is lunching with 2 students (This was what my two 22 yrs old colleague told me). Didn't realize that TP was so new. Much newer than SP. The food court look nice and the range of vending machine they had were amazing. Sandwich, ice-cream, snacks and drinks. You name it, they have it. They even have a Cheers mart. The only shop we had selling snacks back then in SP was the Co Op shop. It wasn't even airconditioned back in 1997. Nonetheless, I still love SP. Where in Singapore can you find so many basketball courts and soccer fields? If I remembered correctly, it used to be said that the handsome guys were from SP (Haha. :P ) while the pretty ladies were from TP and NP.

Not so sure about the standard of NP but the standard of TP seems to have drop a bit. I still remember that it was cool back then in my time to have a gf from TP. Quality assured. Haha. Maybe it is the generation gap ba. They all look like kids to me. Maybe like what my colleagues said, catch them when they are young and groom them to be pretty ladies. Horny young kids...

Tomorrow is the first game for the World Cup. Friends who got me on the MSN should know who I am rooting for. ;) I think Germany shall prevail in the first game. Not because they are good. It is the fact that Costa Rica is going through such a poor patch of form that I can't even see them having a chance to draw with Germany. I am not going for a big win though. Seems like the whole world is thinking that it should be at least 2-0 to Germany. They seems to have forgotten that all the opening matches since the 90s had been either draw, defeat for the favourites (the defending champion before the rule change this year) or a one goal victory margin. I am going for a 1-0 scoreline to Germany.

I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?

Oh simple thing where have you gone
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin

Wasn't really planning to blog. But since I am online with no one to chat with, might as well chat to myself.

Sim Seng Yong. Your tummy is getting bigger and bigger. Up to the point when playing mahjong through the night is uncomfortable due to that stupid block of fats. To be honest, I think it contain more booze than fat. You need to get rid of it. You are not that good looking and becoming fat is really not an option for you. Well, it's good that you had finished the Runway cycling last Sun (34km inclusive of passage to and fro from home :) ) and jogged 8 laps in the stadium just now. But it is still not enough. You used to finsh 4km in around 20 mins. Now u managed 8 laps in the same time. Wake up!!.

Anyway, just watched Toy Story 2 on Channel 5 just now. Loved it. A happy ending. See, I am a sucker for movies with a Happy Ending. Life itself is already a hard reality. Movies like Toy Story is one form of avenue to remind me that in my Dream World, there are good ending for people who is good and bad ending for the bad guy. Not the other way round.

But getting a happy ending is also dependant on some help from above and most importantly, the one you are helping or wanting to have a happy ending with. Just like what I always tell myself. It is useless to get the best doctor, best medical facilities and best form of medication when the one who is sick simply refuse to seek medical advice.

A Happy Ending. I wish this will happen to each and everyone of my friend who is reading this. You guys deserve this for simply reading this and checking on if I am still alive and kicking. :P

P.S: Happy birthday to Mr Lim HongSheng Vincent or simply called 圣. 26 years old lor. All the best in whatever you are doing. Don't worry. Your good friend here will be joining you in the rank of being an Uncle soon. ;)

One Chord

The tears come streaming down your face when you lose something you can't replace. When you love some one but it goes to waste, could it be worse? Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you
